Free Sewing Pattern – Flat Pack Travel Tray

PATTERN DETAILS

My take on an item that you’ve likely seen before. In 2014, I released a tutorial for a triangular version of the flat pack travel tray (the Cutting Corners Collapsible Travel Tray, also available here in my shop)… three years later, the missing corner has been added back, as well as a little bit of sophistication with loops and buttons instead of binder clips! Since it flattens out and takes very little space, it’s a handy item for your bedside table while traveling. Or use it everyday in your home or office to keep your coins and keys organized. Still beginner friendly and a great scrap buster. (The original project was meant as a way to use up Spoonflower swatches.)

RECOMMENDED WITH THIS PATTERN

  • a couple of 8.5″ square pieces of fabric (or two Spoonflower swatches)
  • one 4″ square of Peltex (or substitute with whatever you have to provide structure; I actually recycled a piece of a blanket)
  • one 8″ square of fusible fleece
