PATTERN DETAILS

This project is in honour of Canada’s 150th anniversary of confederation, being celebrated in 2017 — on July 1st to be exact. While I normally work with fabric, I am also interested in paper crafting, so when I saw these huge flowers made out of paper (and not crepe paper) I was determined to create my own version and share it during Canada’s special year. These are impressive due to their size: approximately 15.5” in diameter (using imperial measurements for those of us who were in school during Canada’s centennial in 1967) or just under 40cm (for the benefit of those younger ones who are “metrified”). If you’ve never paper-crafted before, don’t worry; these should be well within your capabilities. (And of course, you can always test run the project using scrap paper first. I would also recommend that you practice using a glue gun if you’ve never done so before.)
